Scott Groholski

Scott Groholski is Founder and President of Point of Beginning, Inc., a multi-faceted civil engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture, and materials testing firm based out of Stevens Point, Wisconsin with branches in Green Bay and Madison. Scott is a graduate of Mid-State Technical College, where he received his Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology.

Scott launched his career in his hometown, Stevens Point, as a surveyor for a local company where he began his specialization in land surveying and project management. Scott opened Point of Beginning’s doors in 2001 and shortly after won the 2002 Portage County Business Council Entrepreneur of the Year award in support of business growth, financial stability, innovation, and the ability to identify a market niche, dedication to customer service and commitment to success. In 2015, Scott was presented with the Wisconsin Technical College Districts Board Association Distinguished Entrepreneur Alumnus of the Year award recognizing his technical college degree and how it has affected his career/personal life, accomplishments, community involvement, technical college support, and commitment to continuing education.

Within his professional career of 26+ years, Scott has managed a growing firm of 40+ employees while being a family man of 6 and directing the Amherst High School Boys Basketball team as Head Coach. Scott has watched POB thrive from a small handful of employees to a firm with an engineering division and capacity to run eight survey crews throughout Wisconsin and the surrounding states.

His areas of expertise include: State Agency Coordination, Local Agency Coordination, Construction Permit Preparation, Project Management, Construction Layout, Boundary Surveying, Topographic Mapping, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys.

Beyond his devotion for POB, Scott enjoys time with his 6 kids & wife, coaching the Amherst High School Basketball Boys, & hunting Wisconsin / Iowa Territories.
